Matheus Cunha Transfer News

Wolverhampton Wanderers – Matheus Cunha has been linked to Manchester United who are thought to be closely monitoring the player with a view of signing him.

Wolves have not been so good in the Premier League, but the Brazilian forward stands out as the club’s top scorer with 10 goals in 19 games this season.

Through his performances last season, he has become the target of other Premier League sides, namely Arsenal and Tottenham.

And as GIVEMESPORT says, if Wolves are to be relegated this season, Cunha will cost £45 million in the summer. Nevertheless, United may plan to do so sooner, to add a proven goalscorer to their attack force.

Should United Go For Matheus Cunha Or Mbeumo?

This had set Manchester United on a link for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo but Cunha may fit into Ruben Amorim’s formation.

Mbeumo has especially been on hot form and has scored 13 goals in 20 in the Premier League this season. However, he is more of a right-sided winger, and this tends to peg his optionality at United depending on the formation that would be utilized mostly this season, which seems to be 3-4-2-1.

However, what Cunha presents is an option to be versatile in its approach and to be creative. The 25-year-old has illustrated his ability to connect play well, coming up with superior numbers in progressive carries and passes per 90 minutes than Mbeumo.

What is interesting, despite scoring fewer goals and having fewer assists combined, Cunha’s skill set looks like a better fit to replace Rashford at United.

United’s quest for a long-term solution to their goalscoring woes comes at a time when options such as Kolo Muani appear less sustainable.

With experience in the English Premier League, Cunha could join the Manchester side as a versatile striker, offering the firepower and creativity that Amorím’s team has been lacking.

Even with Arsenal & Spurs around, United might have to act soon if they stand any chance of signing Cunha which could become cheaper if Wolves relegation were to happen.
