Marc Guehi Transfer News

Crystal Palace are preparing for a decisive few months as they fight to keep hold of two of their most prized assets, Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton, with Liverpool and Manchester United plotting moves.

The January transfer window could prove pivotal for the Eagles as they look to protect their long-term plans while remaining competitive in the Premier League.

Liverpool eye Marc Guehi as contract clock ticks

Guehi has become the centre of a growing transfer tug-of-war. The 25-year-old England international, whose deal runs until 2026, is firmly on Liverpool’s radar ahead of January.

The Reds are eager to strengthen their defence and are wary of the risk of Guehi running down his contract, potentially leaving Palace with nothing in 2026.

Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation closely, hoping to pounce if Guehi becomes a free agent. For Palace, the dilemma is clear: cash in this winter or risk losing one of their most reliable defenders further down the line.

Losing Guehi, whose leadership and composure have made him indispensable under Oliver Glasner, would mark a significant setback.

Wharton attracting Premier League giants

While Palace face uncertainty with Guehi, they are on much firmer ground with Adam Wharton. The 21-year-old midfielder is tied down until 2029, yet his rise has not gone unnoticed.

Manchester United are considering a January approach to set up a summer deal, while Chelsea and Tottenham are also following his progress.

Wharton’s maturity, tactical intelligence, and passing range have seen him compared with some of the league’s best midfielders. Palace, however, have no plans to sanction a sale in mid-season, seeing him as central to their long-term project.

Palace walking a fine line

The next few months will test Palace’s resolve. While a January departure for Guehi is looking more likely, holding firm on Wharton would show clear intent from the club’s hierarchy to build a team capable of pushing for European places.

Supporters will be hoping that the club strikes the right balance between financial realities and ambition, ensuring that Selhurst Park remains home to some of the Premier League’s brightest talents.
