Thomas Partey Transfer News

Thomas Partey To Return to Spain? As the January transfer window has neared, Barcelona are keen on finding the best players to strengthen their team.

One of the positions that is considered to be a top priority is the midfield, and there is information that the manager, Hansi Flick, would like to add a new option alongside Marc Casado to the team.

While it might be difficult to do a deal in January yet, Barcelona are willing to make new additions of good and cheap talents in the summer. Another target is Gunners’ Thomas Partey, who will be out of contract by Arsenal next year in June.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the sporting director of Barcelona Deco has been tracking the form of Partey for several months now.

Recent weeks have seen the increased interest in the Ghanaian international especially after the future of Frenkie de Jong became unclear.

Can Thomas Partey Adapt To Barcelona’s Style?

De Jong has until 2026 on his current contract but Barcelona are concerned that the Dutch midfielder is willing to let his contract expire and leave the club on a free transfer.

Ahead of this situation, Barcelona are looking to sell De Jong and searching for his replacement with Ghanaian international Partey being considered.

Partey has been particularly known for his strength, balance, and good command of the game as he has cut across La Liga and the English top flight.

Also, If Barcelona does decide to sell De Jong, Partey’s ability to play in both the midfield and at right-back may benefit Barcelona in many ways and allow Jules Kounde to rest when needed.

Despite Barcelona looking to sign Partey for free, they will not be alone in the race for the player’s services.

Arsenal, according to The Sun, are also willing to keep the services of the 30-year-old Ghanaian, thus making it difficult for the Blaugrana.

Still, with Barcelona considering getting value for money with a quicker rebuild and all of Partey’s attributes fitting the Barca dynamics, Los Cules are expected to make another robust bid for the midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
