Vitor Pereira Transfer News

Wolves are preparing to offer Vitor Pereira a new deal, underlining their faith in the Portuguese manager despite the club’s poor start to the Premier League season.

Pereira’s current contract runs until the end of the campaign, but talks are progressing quickly, and an agreement is expected to be sealed before the weekend.

Board backs stability over short-term results

The Molineux outfit sit bottom of the league after losing their opening four matches, raising concerns among fans.

However, the board has chosen to back Pereira, who replaced Gary O’Neil last December and successfully steered Wolves clear of relegation last season.

During his first months in charge, Pereira led the team to safety with an impressive six-game winning streak between March and April, finishing 16th and 17 points above the drop zone.

That spell of form appears to have convinced the club hierarchy that he remains the right man to build long-term success, even as results falter.

Club unity a key factor

Executive chairman Jeff Shi recently stressed the importance of stability and praised Pereira’s influence on the squad.

He highlighted how the coach had rebuilt team spirit after a turbulent period and insisted Wolves must give him time to lay foundations for future success.

“Before Vitor came the team chemistry had some problems. This year that issue is gone,” Shi explained. “We have a strong team spirit and a very committed team structure.”

A crucial test ahead

Wolves host Leeds United this Saturday in search of their first Premier League points of the season.

A fifth straight defeat would put them in unwanted company as just the sixth side in league history to start with five losses, but the board’s decision to reward Pereira with a new deal suggests faith in his long-term project remains unshaken.
