Manchester United Make Bold Move for Victor Osimhen with €70 Million Offer

Manchester United have recently verbally offered Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen a deal in an attempt to reinforce the team before the January transfer window closes.

Turkish journalist Kağan Dursun has revealed that the Red Devils have offered €70 million for the Nigerian international in a bid to capture his signature for the Old Trafford-based team.

It is reported Napoli representatives have been in Istanbul in the last few days to ensure their forward is tied down long-term, but apparently, it has not worked.

The 25-year-old forward has an exit clause in his contract, and this could work in Napoli’s favour if a club comes in this month and is willing to meet Napoli’s asking price.

More importantly, there is no list of clubs that could not place bids for him; this means almost any club in Europe would be free to bid for him.

Manchester United presents their interest in Osimhen at the right time as incoming manager Ruben Amorim seeks to find a solution for the team’s poor scoring woes.

The Old Trafford side has been a letdown when it has come to the conversion of these positions this campaign, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee displaying – but not fully delivering – upfront.

Amorim Believes Victor Osimhen Is The Perfect Forward

Amorim believes that Osimhen is the perfect profile, given that the Nigerian has pace, power, and ruthlessness in front of the goal that would nicely complement United’s attacking strategy.

Still, United supposedly are not the only club that is following the proceedings.

Arsenal have also been credited with interest in signing Osimhen as manager Mikel Arteta resumes his affair in the market to strengthen his arsenal for the title chase as well as for the UEFA competitions.

It was stated that Arteta also appreciates Osimhen’s versatility as well as aims to strengthen his attack with the striker.

This does mean, however, that Napoli is making a serious attempt of trying to keep their prime striker as the player garners attention from other premiere clubs which may put pressure on the premier team to give him up.

Should the opportunity emerge, United would get the goalscoring sensation they have lacked all season and push for the championship. The weeks ahead may well decide Osimhen’s fate.
